If the twin was stillborn it would not be registered. nell

Could it have been stilborn or is it one of those family rumours. Perhaps it died just after birth and parents didn't register it. We were told there were twins in the family turned out it was 2 girls born 18 months apart. They were asleep in the same bed and one of them got smothered.

Nicky I think there was a seperate register for stillborn children, I think only parents or the next of kin can apply for a certificate. Georgina.

If it was a stillbirth then their would be no birth or death cert try this, http://www.gro.gov(.)uk/gro/content/stillbirths/ remove bracket Roy

Yes, but the stillbirth register didn't start until 1927 anyway, so it wouldn't have this stillbirth (if that's what it was).
