Hi Just checked for my BN on freebmd and its not there either. FreeBMD is not fully transcribed yet though is it? (I might be wrong). Kimberley |

Hi Louise, I was also adopted, and did not find mine on free BMD either. I found my birth name on 1837 online. I was born in1969. Hope this helps Melisa |

Hi Louise Was your friend born in either Scotland or Northern Ireland ?... if so she won't be on the bmd as that's only for England and Wales. Your friend needs to apply for her original birth certificate to see where she was born. If she's been looking on Ancestry free bmd there are pages missing. Hope this helps. Cheers Gerry |

My friend who was adopted at around 11 months old, was given her birth name yesterday by the social services, or whoever, and excitedly she went home to look for herself in the bmd registers, and she was disappointed to find she was not there. Can anyone tell me why she would not be registered please. Thanks Louise |
