Birth reg. twice Why ?

I was a bit bored so i trawled the gro , for my Haley line and came across my daught. birth 1976 but to my amazement it was reg under my maidan name Haley so checked under married name too and there it was same gro no .i have her birth cert and it was issued under my married name . Any one know why this has happened Cath

I know the answer kind of. My own son is registered under my married name and maiden name. Something due to the fact that a child's surname didn't use to on the certificate just the surname of the parents so is listed under both names. I am sure someone can explain it better.

Pippa Doll . Thanks for repyling. but it doesn,t explain why all my other children born 1978 ,79 80 and 85 are only reg. under my married name . Its just bugging me . Cath

Were you married when she was born?
