Walter was a gardener. Daisy and Jobe had about 4 childre. I could ask my partners nan if she has her birth certificate anywhere. When I spoke with her a few weeks ago about her family, she said that she couldnt remember her grandparents, but maybe witha jolt of names and places she might remember something. Im seeing her over Easter so ill probe her - in a nice way of course!! |

Is till think a sure fire way to find out wuld be to order a birth cert of the children? Do you know how many children he had - and do you actually have any of their birth certs? |

Jobe is an odd name. Could be variant of Jobe, or possibly Jabe (I had an uncle called Jabe, his full name was Jabez). Or is it a misrecorded Toby? nell |

My relative says that he was always known as Jobe or Job Cooper. One thing that I did forget to mention is that his mother was a gypsy/traveller. Her name was Rainey or something along those lines. Walter wasnt and lived in a house, but Rainey lived in a caravan on land of the house. could this maybe be why I cant find anything? the only thing is that Walter wasnt a gypsy. |

Can;t see anything either. Could it be that he was under 21 and lied about his age? Or gave a false name? Maybe you could order the birth certs of his children and see what name he has on those? |

I have received a marriage cert for my partners g.gmother and g.grandfather. I have found her, but I cannot find absolutly anything on him. His name (on the marriage cert) is Jobe Raymond Cooper and his age is 22 years. His father is Walter Cooper (Deceased). Jobe married Daisy Edith Morley on 10th sept 1921 in Croydon. It says that Jobe lived in Twickenham, Hamworth, Middlesex and Daisy lived in Mitcham, Surrey. I have looked on 1901 and cannot find anything that matches and also on the birth records I cannot find anything. I reall want to obtain the birth cert for Jobe, if anyone can help me at all. Many Many thanks Jody |
