I hav e come to a temporary halt on my grandfathers side (Charles Frederick Engle) and thought of chasing a few wild geese on my grandmothers side (Gwenllian Thomas Fisher nee Engle nee Jones). This is what I have on one of her brothers John Lewis Jones Born 28 June 1896at Ely Harbour Lower Grange Cardiff to Benjamin Jones, Harbour Master and Sarah Ann Jones nee Hayward 1901 Census Aged 4 and living with his mother and father and 7 of his brothers and sisters at No 1 Iron Cottages Penarth Harbour Cardiff Goes to Sydney Australia by 1915 where he witnesses the birth of my father John Frederick Engle Havn't located any shipping records yet but he may have come to Sydney with sisters Gwenllian and Beatrice between 1909 and 1915. He marries Ivy Elfida Fisher age 23 the daughter of Robert Fisher and Rosetta Ling on 07 Dec 1922 in Coogee Sydney. He is around at the death of Chales Frederick Engle in 1925. He is shown on the 1960 electoral roll as being a foreman living at 289 Arden Street Coogee with Ella Alfreda Jones homeduties. John Lewis Jones died 30th Jan 1974 as a widower, occupation Cleaner, usual address 289 Arden Street Coogee, which is not far from where my Gmother lived all her life but we have never heard reference of his existence in Australia. He is shown as having 2 sons, Rudolf, deceased and Keith age 50 (in 1974) I havn't been able to find a death of Ivy Elfrida Jones or a birth, marriage or death for Rudolf or Keith Jones in New South Wales Any bright ideas especially Richard of Perth and other Aussie Tipboarders as well as those in UK Regards John in Balmain Sydney I cannot
