I found my father's name and his mother's name on somebody's tree and was madly wondering where they fitted in, particularly as my father's brother wasn't listed (and their mother was German and we don't know of any relatives of hers at all!). But it turned out to be a very distant relative of ours on my father's father's side, who had contacted my stepmother through GR and had been given a tree by my stepmother, so of course it had my father and his mother on, but presumably she hadn't put my uncle on it. Kate. |

I would guess that he's searched the bmd index. Perhaps he's a cousin? Heather |

Hi Linda, Does the person have permission to view your tree or have they done it independently? If they have living people on their tree without permission, you can ask them to remove them. Heather |

It's probably from when you have shared your tree. It is a good idea to disguise your current living famly members, just call them LIVING or do not include birth years. I have done that and am happy for others to use my tree to populate theirs, BUT it is nice to be asked first! Margaret |

I haven't been on the site for a number of months and was checking my hot matches today and found a number of matches for my complete present family, which is slightly disconcerting and also a match for my mothers father, If they had discovered myf amily from my fathers side what is my mothers father doing there !!!!!!!! |
