Could somebody help me decipher some info from census please, the census checker has put some great big pencil marks through the info. 1901 Willingham, Wangford, Suffolk Oakes Family Head John Oakes 1843 Wife Hannah Oakes Children John, James, George. My queries are Johns Occupation, I can read ag lab & parish relief but what else does it say?? Hannah, in the occupation it says (I think) own account What does this mean?? Any help would be great Thanks Angie |

Ordinary Agricultural Labourer for the two Johns..... Laundress for Hannah (checker has written Wash after it!) and Parish Relief for John senr and Hannah, bracketed together. Merry |

Thanks Merry Looks obvious now! Any idea what the 'own account' referring to Hannah means? Own account for parish relief?? Thank you once again Angie |

Own account means she is self employed - so a self employed laundress! Merry |
