How to tell the parents?

Well if you got one of the kids marriage certs hopefully the fathers name and occupation would match? Mums names are sometimes shown on parish records.

Unfortuanately they dont appear on the BMD so looks like it was never registered. Some of the children were baptised, but presumably it wouldnt list mothers maiden name

If you get the birth certificate of the child born 1839, the mother's maiden name should match with the surname of the bride. Sam x

Hi, I have children born 1830-1839 and I believe the parents married in 1831 and the child born in 1830 was baptised in 1836. The yougest isnt on the BMD so how do i tell whether the marriage i have found is the correct one? Unfortunately the man was a mariner and from Liverpool, so im not sure if seeing the entry of his occupation will help as it was known to have a lot of seafaring men. Hope that makes sense!
