I was hoping you might have had a list of names? If you do, you're being very tantalising about it! ;-) - The kindest way to deal with that is to get your list ready in Word, or something, first and then just copy-and-paste. That way your detailed info appears fairly soon after the initial message. Christine |

Antique Leather Bound Family Bible - 7020651552 Husband George Brooks of Rollesby born May 7th 1861 died May 1929 Wife Eliza Brooks of Thurne born August 21st 1863 died January 1956 Married at Thurne church December 17th 1889 Children : George James Brooks born June 10th 1890 at Ashby died October 20th 1916 in France Miriam Eliza Brooks born October 10th 1892 at Ashby died September 1912 in London Walter Edmund Brooks born September 19th 1895 at Ashby Dennis Mark Brooks born March 5th 1897 at Ashby died September 17th 1897 at Ashby Frank William Brooks born May 25th 1898 at Ashby Cyril Basil Frank Brooks born April 28th 1924 at Oby Leslie William Brooks born November 22nd 1926 at Oby John Christopher Brooks born April 18th 1935 at Oby A little more information, all the above places these people where born are all in South Norfolk near to Potter Heigham. Welsh Family Bible - 7020687120 Dated 1909, but hand written births and deaths of Richards family of Carmarthen go back to 1852. Family Bible c1792 - 7404530766 Has inscription on back board dated 1800, with name Gust Clay ,on front board George Glaysher, April 1849 Self-Interpreting Family Bible c.1847 - 7021066933 Hodson family entries Family Holy Bible - 7020404468 Lee family 1841-1971 FIRST ENTRY WAS A JOHN LEE BORN 16th NOVEMBER 1841, MARRIED ELLEN IN SEPTEMBER 1873 AT THE CONGREGATIONAL CHAPEL, NOTTINGHAM, HAD SEVEN CHILDREN Family Bible - Old & New Test c.1885 - 7021385671 Details of a marriage of a Thomas Howgate Family Bible - 7020998716 Thomas Potter Born the 19th May 1854 Family Bible - 6619596241 Bath Family of Batheaston, Somerset and previously of Corsham, Wiltshire. Lots of Genealogy information and a few old photographs of family members too. Clipping from a newspaper (now yellowed with age) - one extract from church newsletter regarding a death - whole family census information from 1851 through to 1901. Other family names are - YEATES, BLACKMORE, HUNT, CARTER. Earliest recorded date in Bible is 1846 but have details of forebears which take us back to 1780's. Page at the front shows that Ellen Yeates and John Carter Bath were married 30th June 1883 at Bishopstow Church, Warminster, Wiltshire Huge Leather and Brass Bible - 7021801280 Inscription in pencil on the inside back cover - 'Miss Bella Stewart McDonald Buchan, Muir Of Ord, Ross-shire' Family Bible c1765 - 7021376262 On the reverse of title page is an old family history - The Terry's - from around the early 1800's Victorian Family Bible - 6269751434 The bible was the property of a Herbert Mitchell of York c1882 Victorian Leather and Brass Bible - 7021589913 The entries in the family register relate to members of the Spry family from Brechin, Scotland. Three female births, Florence Ann 1878, Mary Emma 1880, Lilly 1883. Also the death of Elizabeth, wife of Henry, 1904. The bible also contains a confirmation certificate for Florence Ann Spry, 1892 Set of 3 family bibles - 7022032884 Inside the cover is a loose leaf with details of the Humble family, with a number of birth details from 1803 - 1843. Family Bible c1810 - 6985781590 John Lamb and Elizabeth Gardner were married in 1810 at West Markham in Nottinghamshire That's all for now.............. Sarah :) |

Spooky ... was just telling my daughter today that someone always listed Bibles for sale on ebay on this site and I hadn't seen it for a while. None of mine unfortunately... but I live in hopes that one day ... Thank you for taking the time and trouble to do this. Jean x. |

Ohhhh....the Bath Family bible sounds very interesting to me. I don't have any connection (as far as I know) to the Bath family, but I do have some Yeates and Carter's from that area of Wiltshire in my tree. Not direct lines, but interesting all the same. I might just have to se how much that one is going for. Thanks very much for the information. Kath. x |
