Kat - you can get 2Gb memory sticks now. But - yes I have an external hard drive specifically for backups. It's split into 2 partitions. One partition has a clone of my main hard drive's operating system, the clone is produced by Norton Ghost. The other partition contains an image of all the partitions on my main hard drive (again produced with Norton Ghost). I run the clone alternate weeks to the image. The image is incrementally backed up every day at 0400. It does incremental backups. The external hard drive HAS saved my bacon (last time notably Christmas Day when a digital camera I got as a pressie scrambled absolutely everything on my main hard drive. One thing I found you need to watch is Outlook Express - if you have morte than one identity you may need to back those up separately (and their respective address books). Also some site files in Macromedia Dreamweaver benefit from separate backup. Another thing I've done for many years on my main hard drive - I put the OS on C drive and nothing else. All other software is installed onto D drive (yes it may put some files on C) - then if you have to reinstall the OS, much of your other software on D is safe. Hope this helps. Jools

Hi, Katarzyna I use a company called Depositit - easy to find on Google. I am no expert but needed something simple and not too expensive (though it is slightly more than the price you mention). You do not even have to click a button, once you have set it up (which is not too complicated). You can schedule it to download hourly, daily, weekly or whatever, or you can do manual copies whenever you wish. I believe they back up to three different sites, so it is probably about as secure as you can get. I have had one or two hiccups re admin but there are real human beings who reply to emails within an hour or two. Ray

my partitioned hard drive (D / E ) has gone down but luckily I had most of my stuff backed up on disc and have the use of hubbies lap top. However I have not been backing up regularly and have lost quite a bit of stuff. A hard lesson learned. The trouble is I am lazy, I need something where I can press a button and back up daily. Has anyone experience of: One Touch Backup 160GB USB2.0 External Desktop Hard Drive [HD1-160GB] £72.99 I need a lot of memory as I need to back up work as well as tree info and databases. Any other ideas? I am not interested in memory sticks I need more than 1GB Kat
