Perhaps they got elsewhere, perhaos in the next county. This is what /i found with my own relatives. I found that they got married in Burnley instead of Bradford. How found that was because they had another child that I did not realised existed! Hope you find them! Rowena

They ARE there: Elizabeth E. KANE Ref Gateshead 10a 1810 Frances CHAINEY. Ref Gateshead 10a 1838 Dea x P.S. - she's toooo fast for me too - beat me to it! Dea x

Another thought! Have you tried looking for the registration childrens births? The BMD records give the mothers maiden name after about 1911. Heather Ps sorry just realised I was looking at the wives surnames!

I have found one of them on 1837online: CHAINEY Frances Dec 1923 (Diston) Gateshead 10a 1838 I cannot see the Kene one though. Maybe it is a spelling mistake - hav you looked under Keen, Keene, Kane, Kune etc.? Liz

Hi Jennifer The answer is probably to splash out on one of the marriage certs., or if you're near the record office of the area they were married in go and look at the parish record. I hope someone else can think of another way for you! Heather Just thought, do you know their wives names? It's not clear from your post. If you do put them on here and I expect someone will have a look for you

Found two brothers who got married same day 4th 1/4 1923 Henry Diston-married Kene-in Gateshead John J. Diston-married Chainey-in Gateshead But when I look under their wifes names - nothing have tried going back a year and also forward but nothing-any suggestions where to look next??????
