Passenger Records - where else can I look?

If that's not them they could be on the records they were lost or damaged. Seems to mostly affect the years you are looking for. Rose |

Rose As far as I know, they married in 1883 and had a son Richard in 1884. Then there is no trace of them until they pop up in 1891 with 2 sons born in the US. The elder of the two born in New Jersey (according to the census) would have been born in 1886. This one is my Gt Grandfather and he always celebrated his birthday on 10th October, so I think they must have already travelled by then:-( Unless they went back and forth a couple of times as the next child was born there in 1888????? Did they have any other children born in the UK? I found 1 record for arrival 9 April 1887 Rich Ashton 26 Mrs Ashton 24 R Ashton 4 M Ashton Infant What do you think? Rose |

Hi Rose They were both born in 1863 in Stafford. I know they were both back in the UK by 1891 as they are on the census, with two children born in New Jersey:-) Bev X |

There are several Mr and Mrs Ashtons and R Ashtons on the New York Passenger list. What are Richard and Francis year of birth? Rose |

So far I have scoured Ancestry, the Ships list and Immigrant ships looking for Richard and Frances Ashton going to the US some time between 1884 and 1886. So far I have had no luck tracking them down. Have you any ideas of where else I could look? Bev X |
