My great great great grandfather was Samuel Stevenson born 1826 in Sheffield ( have verified this thorugh marriage certs) On census records from 61 onwards his wife is Sarah, born 1827 - 30 depending on which census you view. I have found these on Freebmd for marriages, their daughter was born a year later, have searched from 1846 to 1851 and only these came up Croft Wilfred Sheffield 22 591 Hall John Sheffield 22 591 Hopkinson Martha Sheffield 22 591 Howell Sarah Sheffield 22 591 Roebuck John Sheffield 22 591 Stevenson Samuel Sheffield 22 591 TURNER Emma Sheffield 22 591 VON EHERN Magdaline Hull 22 591 Wilson Caroline Sheffield 22 591 Have then looked on the 1841 census for Sheffield, as Sarah gives palce of birth as Sheffield, but the only one I can find is age 1 in 1841, could it have been transcribed wrong and her age be 11? 1841 census for ref Howell, Benjamin of Trafalgar Court, Ecclesall Bierlow. Aged 13 years. (Piece #1333/11, folio 14b, enumeration district 21.) Find similar Howell, Edward of Trafalgar Court, Ecclesall Bierlow. Aged 25 years. (Piece #1333/11, folio 14b, enumeration district 21.) Find similar Howell, Lydia of Trafalgar Court, Ecclesall Bierlow. Aged 30 years. (Piece #1333/11, folio 14b, enumeration district 21.) Find similar Howell, Sarah of Trafalgar Court, Ecclesall Bierlow. Aged 1 years. (Piece #1333/11, folio 14b, enumeration district 21.) Is this another marriage cert I need to send for to confirm? Well, you appreciate that the freebmd is far from complete. So you would be taking a gamble on £7. Why dont you have a look on ancestry beta bmd? |
