got my grandparents wedding certificate through today(only 1 day late) my grandmother's details were correct but my grandfather had the name Albert Gordon instead of Arthur. Then I saw note on the side which said the name had been amended six weeks later to Arthur in front of witnesses. Any thoughts as to why it was n't corrected at the time of the wedding? |

they married in 1917 and I wondered if my grandfather (a soldier) had been out on a 'stag night' with perhaps the vicar in tow? |
