Thanks for that Alan. It looks like more investigation is needed as to why she didn't sign the marriage certificate of Caroline. Thanks again. Ken.

It definitely is Caroline.......she is my grandmother. I couldn't trace the death of Sarah either. She was dead by 1895, as she doesn't appear on the marriage certificate of Caroline. Ken.

I think we should settle for Caroline or we put the 1881 census as suspect !! lol Dunno why Alfred should call himself Widower - unless it was wishful thinking (?) and cannot trace death of Sarah Cottle from 1881 to 1901 at the right age.
