I have done my tree for over a year and met distant rellies on GR. So I thought I'd do my hubby's side and I have got stuck at first hurdle. I wonder if a new pair of eyes would help? Looking for Herbert Henshall, my f-in-law's dad. Got marriage cert he married 1919 to Mary Glennon (got her!) in Wirral. Herberts dad on cert as Robert William Henshall potter. No trace of him. This now is all handwritten family stuff.; Robert William married Annie Gallagher. Their children are down as Florence, Hannah, Louise, Lily, May, Harry, William, and Herbert. Can't find this family on any census. Herbert is supposed to be born in Salford 1897. Tried Cheshire 8a 41 sept 1895, not him. Tried all locations this name and date and got Stoke 6b 242 but then I requested ONS to check fathers name being Robert William but they said wrong name and didin't send the cert. (Should of got cert anyway) with being Stoke on Trent and dad being a potter. When through all marriages and think got William Herbert Henshall m. Ann Gallagher Stoke 6b 353. 1882. Think this is them and about to send for cert. This would mean the name on Herberts marr. cert as Robert William is wrong. Don't know what the story is there, might need to quiz f-in-law further. I just wondered if any new eyes would spot something as in-laws coming to stay for Easter and I feel a prat not having any info on his dad. (apparently walked out on them when young) hope this doesn't offend any rellies who might be reading this. Karen

Thanks Jess, Thought I had separated the info but came out in a big block! Don't know the ages of the children, that is the order I have been given them written down I just guessed the average 2 years apart to narrow it down. Got who the children married if that is any held? Karen

Wow thank you Teresa, I think you are spot on. Just goes to show that you shouldn't rely on family memories for the names. Thanks again Karen
