Duplicate People- help!

Hi, I am quite new to all this and seem to have some duplicate people in my tree! It won't let me remove them. Any ideas on how I can get aroung this, or should I just ignore it? Thanks, Julie

Hi Julie If you have children attached to someone it won't let you remove a person until they have been deleted. I don't know if this is your problem or if theres something else that is wrong. good luck loz

If you have the same name appearing ,then if there are any children attached you cannot delete that person,unless you delete the children first,having said that i have made an entry for a person twice,once with children and then by mistake entered them again without children and they keep coming back after being deleted. Although you may be fairly recent starting,it would pay you to use another program to keep your 'good' (proven or correct) tree on,as much for back up etc. Recently GR has experienced many problems and it isn't a safe place to keep the only copy of your tree. Thanks for your advice. What I've done is added my g grandfathers sister as herself and a wife of her father! lol I've noticed this site has glithes too. It actually crashes every time I try to do something with this lady! I'll certainly take your advice about keeping it on another program. Kind regards, Julie
