I fear that Salford entries for the 1851 census are lost forever. Piece Numbers 2223 and 2224 covered Salford and according to Ancestry these pieces and many others covering the Manchester area suffered water damage during storage and are no longer readable. |

Hiya,Irwell street goes between Chapel St and New Quay street. My 1991 (very up to date!!!) A-Z shows it goes over the River Irwell.I don't know if any of these were around in 1851 but nearby streets are: Ordsall Lane,Islington st;Rodney st;Broughton St *** I've got a map of M/cr 1894 but of course Irwell st is just off the edge!! It shows that Stanley st ran across it though |

Hi, Can anyone help me to locate Irewll Street, Salford on 1851 Census, or tell me any names of nearby streets please. I believe there was an Irwell Street Wesleyan Chapel and I have tried googling but cannot pinpoint it to a specific district so I can search. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Dea x |
