could anyone please help finding this birth Ernest Perkins born 1880 swaffham norfolk tried ancestry +1837 years 1878 to 1883 nothing 1881census on ancestry shows him tumbler hill swaffham norfolk abt 1880. 1891still tumbler hill age11.tried all perkins births 1878 to 1884 0n free bmd still not found him would be glad of any help.thanks .ann |

yes married parents eliza1849 james 1843 quite a large family found births for all except ernest |

Do you have a marriage or death certificate showing his name as Ernest Perkins? Or do you just have his name from the censuses? Because if just from censuses, it could be that they called him Ernest but his real name was something else, or Ernest was his middle name. Unfortunately FreeBMD has a bit of a hole around 1881 so you have to look through the indexes quarter-by-quarter for that year. Kate. |

I don't really understand what anybody else is talking about on here, but Eliza wasn't necessarily married before she married James if he is single in 1871 and Fanny was born before then - she could have been illegitimate? (I was typing that before I saw the reply that is now above this one, honest!) Kate. |

Looking through the Perkins births for 1881. No Swaffham ones that I can see in the March or June quarter, though. Kate. |
