Have been searching forever for my g grandads birth information. His name was George Danford. My grannie told me her dad was born in Southhampton (silly me thought it was Southhampton New Brunswick Canada). Just found him on the 1911 Canadian Census and he was born 1889 (could be year off either way) in England. immigrated to Canada in 1909. Now I guess I'm to assume he was born in Southhampton England. His wife my ggrandmother (Charlotte Mathias) was born in Bradford, Devon (how they met is a mystery) Could someone help this silly sod out. LOL Regards Deb

Thanks Jess: not sure, I did find Charlotte Mathias in Devon 1891 & 1901 but the surnames where transpired incorrectly. 1891 shows her as Charles - daughter and 1901 has her as Lottie which was what we knew her as. As for George Danford have found several variations of Danford in the transcriptions, Dunford, Denford, Dumford, etc. so not sure about him at all. As my grannie is still around may be able to get DOB from her but at 89 her memory is not what it was. Also, she didn't have a close relationship with her father and can't give to much info. Sad story. Thanks anyway.

Hi Deb The only George Danford I can find between 1887 and 1890 was born in Rotherham in the3rd qtr of 1887. 9c 600. He could have sailed to Canada from Southhampton. Eileen
