Where are they in 1871?

I've been researching two branches of my tree. I have them on the census in '51, '61, '81'. '91 and '01 but I can't find them in 1871. Is it me or is there 'a problem' with the 1871 Census? M. Steer

You come across all sort of prob on every census. Why not ask others to to have a nose around the 1871? 20 eyes are better than two...lol. If you dont like help then suggestions: Welsh/ Scottish census? (you'd be surprised!) In workhouse using just initials? Use lots of wildcards. enter as little info as you can and look for possible mistranscriptions Suzanne

Thankyou both. I'm particularly looking for:- David Tilbury, born c.1853, in Clanfileld, Hants.(parents - Thomas & Jane). In 1873 he married Sophia Louisa Parslow in Bridgend, Glam. He remained in Glamorgan for the rest of his life. I've found Sophia Louisa Parslow on 1871 Census in Llangeinor, Glam., but I can't find David in England or Wales. Sarah Taylor, born c. 1857, in St.Just in Penwith, Cornwall (parents - George & Mary). In 1880 Sarah is in Lancashire. Nine years later she is married, to William Jones, and living in Sketty, Swansea, Glamorgan. I can't find her in 1871 in England or Wales. Maybe it's just my eyes! Any help would be much appreciated. M. Steer
