Try Googling HMS St Vincent - I've just tried it and there are lots of sites coming up with info on various naval ships with that name.

Looking at the National Archives site: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue and searching by Vincent, 1850 -1855, ADM it looks as if this may have been a convict ship. Is that feasible? Unfortunately, a medical journal has a gap for 1851 and no other records seem to survive for that year.

My father was on HMS St Vincent. It was not a ship but a Naval training base at Gosport, Hampshire!!! Contact Malcolmapink AT btopenworld(.)com (Hope you understand that e-mail address)
