how do i know

if i am looking to see if a man has remarried but its a common name in that area, how do i know if it its my rellie or not without ordering the marriage cert.

basically that is the only way - see if fathers names tally is this within census time or later because if so, we could prbably do some 'digging'

no after census about 1940s, looking to see if grandfather remarried like grandma did...will have to wait need other certs that are more important..thanks
