Hello and good morning all I wondered if anyone could have a glance at this census entry for me as I'm having trouble reading quite a few bits of it. I'm looking into my great grandma Agnes Lenahan (c1890/1). I have her marriage certificate which lists her dad as Andrew. They seem to appear together on the 1891 census, when she is a few months old. They are living with the Mc Mahon Family, John Mc Mahon is head (1852), now they could just be lodging there but i think there may be a family connection. In 1901, Agnes is apparently in Sheffield with her gran Hannah O'Neil and Hannah's son William. The 1891 census shows a Patrick O'Neil. At this point I can't read or decipher the name of what looks like Pat's wife, or his relationship to the rest of the house (poss father-in law?). I also think Andrew may be 'grandson' but I can't really read that either! If anyone can decipher this particualr entry, including the bithplaces (I thought maybe Kent?), I would be really grateful. I've had some great help from a member already who has spotted what maybe Agnes's parent's wedding, but my eyes are worn out staring at this one! RG12/2988 Registration district: West Derby Sub registration district: West Derby ED, institution, or vessel: 8 Folio: 128 Page: 34 (1891 census) I am having trouble working out the relatinships in the household and reading some of the clerk's writing! Possible I could still be barking up the wrong tree though, but if you have a chance to decipher anything - much appreciated! Sarah

I think 1891 has Andrew as a boarder born Gravesend, Kent. Heather

Patrick is down as Father in Law. His wife's name looks like Hanora. Andrew is described as Boarder, and is a widower. Kath. x

Yes, now I see it does like boarder for Andrew. What I am wondering though now is if Patrick's wife is something like Hannah/Hannora, as her birth (c1842) would fit with the Hannah Agnes is with in 1901, as would the birth place (Lanc. Preston) - only just noticed this. Hmmmm, the plot thickens...or barking up the wrong tree :) Thanks again.
