a Commercial Traveller? I am trying to find immigration records to Canada for William Christie. On both the Canadian 1871 and 1881 he is listed as Com. Traveller. I found an immigration entry for a William Christie who is a Merchant and was wondering at the possibility of them being the same thing. |

Quite possible. Some of mine were commercial travellers and occasionally they had delusions of grandeur on census day and called themselves merchants !!! |

Might follow that one through then Jools -- I think the Immigration Records had more info than what was in the book I saw, so hopefully can give me parents names etc. |
