You can't believe everything on the census'........yet another example. Got wedding cert this morning of gg grandparents.........major faux pas regarding gg grandmothers details..........year of birth out by three years and worst of all Surname totally INCORRECT!! NO wonder I could not find her family for the past six months Grrrrrr!!!! Definately worth getting your certificates lol..........happy bunny now.........onward and upward. Lin |

Yes Monty, sure its the right cert, as all other details are correct ie, gg grandfathers details, his fathers name and profession + one of the witnesses was probably gg grandmothers sister, for whom they named their eldest daughter.........even place of birth correct. Going off to check now on 1851 for the relevant family for gg grandmother......to confirm and backup cert details........fingers crossed. lol. Lin |

Glad you have the right cert.- but they are not always correct. .... It depends on the information given. We have one chap marrying in 1908, aged ' 58'., on the certificate. Strange then that a family bible records his birth, and PRs his baptism in 1840. Naturally his wife didn't know and perpetuated the lie on his death certificate some years later. |
