Hallo Viv, Not sure I can help a lot- but a few months back I paid a visit to a church in the Chingford area, cannot at this moment remember which one- I too was looking for a grave - of a great grandfather. I had found a photograph of his gravestone - and one of the Church adjacent to it, in an old album. The vast majority of the graves in the churchyard had been laid to grass for ease of maintenance - and there was no sign of the one I hoped to find. However, there was a large cemetery opposite the church, and I photographed the opening times and phone numbers with a view to making contact in case his stone and the records of it had been transferred there. I will post again as soon as I have found the details in my rather disorganised files. I went off at a tangent and followed another line - so don't know how helpful the people at the cemetery are likely to be! Back in a bit - will try to find the details. Rosi |

I think my grandfather who lived in Winchester Road, Highams Park, may have been buried at either Chinford Mount Cemetery or Queens Road Cemetery (Walthamstow) in 1933. (the only two i could find in the vacinity) How would i go about finding out? I have his name, address and date of death. How do I and where do I contact and is there a charge? Does anyone have any tips please? Hoping someone can point me in the right direction, Viv |
