Honiton Created 1st July 1837. Sub-districts : Honiton; Ottery St. Mary. GRO volumes : X (1837-51); 5b (1852-1930). Awliscombe, Branscombe, Broadhembury, Buckerell, Combe Raleigh, Cotleigh, Dunkeswell, Farway, Feniton, Gittisham, Harpford, Honiton, Luppitt, Monkton, Northleigh, Offwell, Ottery St. Mary, Payhembury, Plymtree, Salcombe Regis, Sheldon, Sidbury, Sidmouth, Southleigh, Talaton, Upottery, Venn Ottery, Widworthy, Yarcombe (from 1895). I checked the GRO site and if you put the name in the search box it comes up with Honiton - East Devon District. Address: Elmfield House, Dowell Street, Honiton, EZ14 8LZ. If you want to check yourself its www.gro(.)gov(.)uk (remove brackets). Click on order certificate and it gives you the search facility there. Regards jane |
