Hot Matches has got rid of that irritating 'Happy Genes Error' message and replaced it with: This relative does not appear to be on this Site. The Tree Owner may have removed it. Now, call me ungrateful, but, erm, why then show it as a Hot Match??? I can see this new 'improvement' getting on my wick as much as the Happy Genes Error did! Olde Crone |

I know it's been said before but I would really like to get rid of all the rubbish off this site. All the Mickey Mouses and Darth Vaders just as an example. Then I would really like it if Genes then got rid of the trees for people who for instance have not logged into the site say for 18 months. After that I would love it if Hot Matches was able to match 2 out of the 3 criteria for a Hot Match and instead of using the alphabet to deteremine the order they send them to you maybe the amount of matches you have with another tree. If you are only searching for a match for one of two names it is quite easy to do this 'manually' so shouldn't cause too much upset to people. Finally after all that I think that all members that log in weekly should get a free share of the company. |

Olde Crone I love your weekly Hot Match update as it always coincides with when mine appear and it's reminds to get in that vital excersise of my deleting finger Unfortunately I've just had to break it to the poor rellies of JOhn Watson (1841) born in South Sheilds, Fife, Aberdeen, Manitoba and Sydney thats it's unlikely its the same guy I have being born in Tottenham. They can prove me wrong if they like - but I won't hold my breath Zoe |

Pippa I agree! Why, if GR MUST persist in Hot Matches, can it not be possible to show the potential match alongside the tree owner's name? That way they could be easily deleted. And yes - I have had to tell someone that their James Bloggs, born ?, in county ?, is unlikely to be mine. Even if he is, how are we ever going to prove it? And that Thomas Green, born in Kyoto, Japan, isnt mine either - all my Thomas Greens lived in the same HOUSE for nearly 500 years and never went to Japan as far as I am aware. And oh, yes, I do wish GR would do a bit of housework and throw out all the Darth Vaders, and dead trees. But hell will freeze over first I suspect, otherwise it would make their 62 million relatives boast a lie! Olde Crone |

When I joined I am sure it was 38 whatever the amount is. Surely it would benefit genes if there site was of better quality and encourage more researchers to join? |
