James Danslow born 1852 onboard HMS Clio 1/1/1873-23/9/1873 when went AWOL in Australia birthplace given Plimlico (as do all census'). Father James mother Hannah Crawley I have a marriage of Charles James Danslow in Victoria, Oz to Ann Whelan in 1878. Birth place is Plimlico aged 26. Father Charles James Danslow,(occ engineer) mother Ann Low. The name on the cert has Charles written above James as though it was an after thought, both in the certificate bit and in the declaration bit down the bottom. They had several children and his name changes a couple of times between James Charles and Chales James. Charles died in 1900 aged 48, again parents the same. Says he lived in Oz for 28 years. One of the other things is that James' nephew Frederick moved to the same area in the 1900's. I have looked for a Charles James Danslow in London who was an engineer but there are none. All the Danslows in the london area are related too Many thanks for your thoughts

I think it makes sense, Robyne. The ages match, the parents match and his place of birth matches, it all looks pretty good really. I'm sitting here trying to think of another way you can check the link, but I can't find one :os Maybe someone else will come up with an idea? Helenxx

Thanks Helen, it makes sense to me too but thats because i want it to i think. I have now found Ann Whelan in 1861, down as Annie mums is Ellen. In the 1851 i found the family, father is Jeremiah and a hairdresser so that all adds up. I cant find the family after 1861 and im wondering if maybe the family emigrated some time after that. Might have to get Annies death cert to confirm how long she was in Oz
