At 16 he could be in the army proper, as a drummer or some such. What is the regiment stated in the 1901 for that barracks.

In the late 1940's up to the 80's you could join the army at 15 years old, they where called The junior leaders.

My husbands Grandfather is at Military School on the 1901 and he is 13! is there more then him there roughly about the same age??, if yes it must be then?

Has anyone any idea why a 16 year old would be on 1901 census as being in the Barracks whilst his parents were in Kensington? Could this be a military school of some sort?
