Not genealogy, but need help please. Is there a way of finding out if someone has/had any county court judgments against them? |

I know that you can if you are a company doing credit checks (if that person is applying to you for credit) - companies such as Experian provide a credit-checking service which will list CCJ's among the results. Also, a private individual can apply to Experian or other similar companies to see their own file and any CCJ's would be included in it (you have to pay a few pounds for this). But presumably you would know if there were CCJ's against you anyway! As for whether you can find out about CCJ's against somebody else, if you are not a credit-checking company, I'm not sure, but if you go on google and mess about with phrases like 'county court judgement' a few adverts will be sure to come up for private agencies and the like who say that you can get them to check. Whether there is a legal way of doing it, I don't really know. Kate. |
