Prisoners are on the census same as anyone else, though equally likely to be mistranscribed. nell

he was a carpenter......perhaps he was in the army/at sea,i haven't a clue.he died in 1910 from blackwater fever,his wife died on the ship on the way home.....if he was in the army etc his wife wouldn't of gone over would she? rachie

i know he did after 1905,india i think. in 1901 his wife is at home with her parents+i cant find him.....perhaps he went over to test the waters before coming back for her...i'm baffled! rachie

I have seen census records for prison institutions. Sometines the inmates or prisoners are listed by last name and first initial. Is it possible he emigrated? Rose

does anyone know if theres any indexes for prisoners in london between these dates? my great grandfather vanished+i'm running out of options! rachie
