Caroline Nellie was a name in its own right, but it could have been Kates nickname as her middle name was Eleanor. Jacqui

I found it by searching for Henry Moss using the Keyword 'Islington' No joy using the same criteria in 1881 however. Pete

On Alice Beatrices wedding cert one of the witnesses was a Nellie Moss, do you think that may be short for something?

Do you think the Anna was shortened from Hannah then? Could it have been a transcribe error? And how did you find it, I have searched this one for about 3 weeks with no luck. It would make sense as family have mentioned that they thought the father came from there. I will go and have a look. Thank you so much!

I know my Grt Grandmother Alice Beatrice Moss was born 05/12/1872. I have the birth cert and it states that her parents were Hannah Driscoll and Henry Moss (Carpenter). Their address was 4 Prospect Place Islington. I have found their marriage record, this says Jan Qtr 1862 in Clerkenwell. I know that Alice Beatrice was living as a 'boarder' in her future husbands home in the 1891 census, but I cannot find any other reference to her parents anywhere. I have trawled through thousands of records trying all different (and sometimes downright stupid) variations on possible mis spellings of their names but with no luck. Can anyone suggest anything else that I might try? Many thanks Caroline
