hi all...my grt gran(ardie irene haynes) was born in november 1902 to parents George haynes and ellen monks.I know nothing at all about her parents except their names and other info on birth cert. I know Ardie was born in aston,b'ham 20th nov 1902 her dad george was a labourer at electrical works..mum registered the birth it says ellen haynes formerly monks..the address looks like 107 astor brork/brook street.........how am i going to find them?? a kind lady named sheila has just looked on 1901 census..but the only George haynes she could come up with off such little info was with a lady named Nellie?and they have a son named george. Could this be them?any one any ideas or imput please?? thankyou |

What you need to do next is find a marriage between George and Ellen and get the marriage certificate, and that will give you more information about them, such as father's name and occupation, and their ages and addresses when they got married. Can't find it at the moment, but there are a lot of George Hayneses about in the Birmingham area! I can't see the marriage on FreeBMD but you can search yourself, or try Family Relatives, or try looking through the marriage indexes on ancestry quarter by quarter working backwards from when the 1902 birth took place. I would suggest you search for Ellen Monks and whenever you find one look to see if there is a matching George Haynes entry, if you try this approach. It's getting past my bedtime... Good luck!
