Good Luck! You could also try opening the GED with Excel and see if you can hack it that way! Linda |

I've had a play with it to see if I can find an automatic way to do it and haven't found a way. I'm about to boot up Visual Studio to see if I can hack my way into the GED file. :) Hopefully I won't break the whole thing. |

I can't see any method of automatically adjusting them :( You can enter them manually (using any letters and numbers) by going to View >Individual Facts Card for each person.... but it would be a long job. You could try fiddling with File>Preferences>Reference Numbers to see if changing what you have will reset them. Linda |

I don't suppose anyone knows how to reset the reference numbers in Family Tree Maker. The majority of my relatives have huge reference numbers despite only have a couple of hundred in the tree. How do I go about resetting the numbers just to make it easier for me to use them for referencing. |
