Got War Record back really Quickly

Although I was advised that it would take 6-8 months for a world war 2 record to get to me, it has arrived in less than three weeks. I was really pleased to see a photograph attached but have discovered that on the back of the photo is a ticket with a different name & number to my relative. Still I amm happy it has got here so quick & the other info is great.

No john it was France, Italy & North Africa. My hubby is studying it again as we speak. Most of us girlies don't understand the fighting medal things like men do! I was more interested in his description & original sign-up contract.

John I am not sure if there are any outstanding. I need to study what info I have got . If you have experience of this I would be interested to hear how it works. On my info I have an address of the Medal officer address. Thanks Ang

Dee, You have to write to an address in Glasgow, I don't have it with me now but if nobody else can help pm me tomorrow & I will send it to you, have left all my info at work! You do have to get a death cert for the relative, fill in a form to prove you are next of kin & pay £30

Ok Dee, get writing that letter! I was impressed with the service, they acknowledged every letter etc. Although the records do not have too much detail it does allow us to try & understand our ancestors a little better.
