I too have seperated my dads side from my mums side in Family Tree package, but not the maternal and paternal side on each side. Maybe that should be my next mission!

Have you tried keeping seperate surnames on spreadsheets? I do this as it is easy to work with (you do get overrun when you have about 40 surnames) and if anyone comes asking for a view of my tree I only send them the spreadsheet that is relevant as there are a lot of info pinchers out there. If you have your family tree in a family tree programme like Family tree Maker or the LDS FREE software, you can send reports which are relevant to just the bit contacts are enquiring about. You could export your gedcom to these programmes and produce reports. Cheers, Horatia

Thank you both for that. Gedcom file may be the thing to do then. Thanks again Angela

From here, you can't. It's either all or nothing. What you can do, is send them a Gedcom of the part that would interest them by normal email.
