Hi, is there anywhere other than 1837 to look at overseas deaths? A relative disappears between getting married in 1880 and his wife remarrying in 1890. I have no idea where he could have gone and his death isnt appearing in FreeBMD or Ancestry. Many thanks |

Online, the only place to look is 1837 online. But S&N Genealogy Supplies are selling CD-ROMS of the overseas indexes now, it looks as though for the date you want you would have to buy a set of 6 CDs for about £30. You can look at the indexes at the Family Records Centre in London. But is there a particular reason why you don't want to look on 1837 online? It doesn't usually take very many credits to look for an overseas event because they are not broken down into quarters, in fact you usually get several years on the one page. Kate. |
