Thanks Liz! His name was Frank Butterworth, born 1840 in Huddersfield and was still in Yorkshire in 1861 and 1871, occupation Druggist. Helen x |

A very kind lady has just done a look up in 1861 for me and it shows my gt gt grandfather Frank being married to a Ruth. However on his marriage cert of 1868, when he married Elizabeth, it shows him as a bachelor. (On the 1871 census, there is no sign of Ruth or Elizabeth!) Also he had a sisiter called Ruth so do you think this has been mistranscribed or could there be another reason for him wanting people to beleive he was married? Best wishes Helen x |
