I have an ancestor a jane jenner born in 1848 and her sister mary ann also born in france. I have her fathers name James jenner and her mother was ann. I am having trouble getting any further up this branch of the family as all census info says she was born in lyons france. I always draw a blank when trying to find her mothers full name and have no idea how to get info from france without having to pay. Can anyone advise me how to get hold of her birth cert and or any further info from france about her or. her family. It would be really appreciated. Thanks Karen |

There are Overseas Births Marriages and Deaths indexes found at the record office ,on 1837 and at Family history societies, was the Father in the forces or working representing Britain (consulate etc?) If they were actually native French, then I don't know, sorry!! |

You might have some Luck with overseas births then.If you can't get to the record office, ask someone if they've got a spare credit for 1837. Hope you find it. |

Check the IGI! It's a controlled extract so should be reliable. Jane Jenner - Continental Europe - France throws up Jeanne Jenner dob 11 Jul 1847 at Lyon Parents Jacques Jenner and Anne Priddy The register has been filmed by the LDS, so you can view it at your nearest LDS Family History Centre. I think it should be film # 732063 Also on the IGI are what appear to be their christenings at St Paul Deptford on 31 May 1852. Regards David |

Hi Karen Just put in Jane Jenner 1852 British Isles-England-Kent and she'll come up. Then her sister. Alternatively, which is what I did to find them, just the Father James Jenner Mother Ann and Kent for the county. A James was also christened the same day. I'm not 100% sure about the French birth either, just 99%, particularly if you have a birthplace of Lyon. But order the film from your local LDS and check it out Regards David |
