My list of hot matches has shrunk! Last week I had two pages of real contacts, today I have one. Does this mean that several people have deleted themselves as members? |

i think it gets clever and hides the ones you've looked at. isn't there a click place to view ignored matches? |

Once you have opened the matches it adds the names together so you might as I have have one person with 31 matches rather than 31 names. (I just wish the person would contact me we are only on A-H so far so he must be a close relative or a name collector.) Anne |

Phoenix Mine shrank too! One day I was looking at 44 pages, next day I was looking at 33! Oooh, goody, I thought, someone else is doing a bit of deleting. Then suddenly last night, I was back to 39 pages, many of them new. Except they werent new, I realised as I went through them, recognizing some of the more barmy entries. Absolutely and totally baffled, because they have all rearranged themselves anyway, although I THINK that happens if you delete a 'Happygenes error' type entry. Hot matches takes the hard work out of doing your tree..... Olde Crone |

The trouble is that computors can't think - I whispered that in case they can - A number of my rellies have 'unknown' parents on one side or the other in my tree - so now everytime someone else has an 'unknown' in their tree the computor seems to think they are related to me. I don't know what to put instead of 'unknown' in order to stop this happening. Any ideas anyone |

Can anyone tell me how I delete 'Error' Hot Matches please? On normal HMs we can tick the 'discard' boxes, but these don't appear on the numerous Error ones. Also the box on the far right doesn't appear to be work for me - does it for anyone? Thanks for any input. Janet |

Janet Its a waste of time trying to delete the 'Happygenes error' ones, but here's how to do it anyway! Click on the 'back to your hot matches'. Tick the box alongside the useless entry AND THEN CLICK SAVE - yes, really, you click on SAVE to get rid of it! LOL!!! As for the Unknown thingy, I have gone through all mine and put 'Unknown, wife of George Bloggs' etc - that will ensure that you never get a hot match at all. Incidentally, I did this after printing off a list of 'My names' from this site - I was rather taken aback at how many Unknowns I actually had in my tree. This is a handy thing to do as it gives you all the names in your tree in alphabetical order and I had great fun going through them and writing alongside what I still needed to find. Olde Crone |

Hi Old Crone So glad I'm not the only one. I have the Happy Genes error from someone with 5 matches who is already on my list of contacts so I don't even know how she is related because I can't work out her membership number. I have people showing multiple hot matches simply because they have reloaded their trees umpteen times. Each time those people reload, they crop up as a new hot match. In one case the reloader appears twice in my list of discarded hot matches But my final, pruned, list consisted solely of genuine far flung cousins, so it's a bit disconcerting to lose so many in one fell swoop. |

Phoenix Having just spent a frustrating half hour on HM, with yet a new arrangement of listings (different from the order they were listed yesterday!) and reviewing the ones in my contacts lists, who have either never replied, or have shoved off with the booty I gave them, never to return, I have come to an immense decision - I am going to delete the lot and start again.
