Just browsing on the 1891 census and found an aming family. Head, widow, Daughter, widow, Granddaughter and her husband, Great Granddaughter. How wondeful it would be if we could all find a family like this.

Sometimes you can get 3 generations in a family. I had my great-great grandparents, two great-great aunts, a great-great uncle, various children all on one census. Sadly, 5 years later 5 of these family members were dead. But its always worth looking at the neighbours. Particularly true in earlier censuses, when people tended to live in small, rural communities, the grandparents and siblings would often be on the same or consecutive census pages. nell

Not so lucky for the head and her daughter, perhaps! Kate.

Don't think any of my lot would be that long-lived! Also, there's a trend for them to marry in their 30s, rather than 20s, so that you get fewer generations living at the same time. nell
