ANY TIPS ON HOW TO FIND WHERE A BAPTISM TOOK PLACE? TORIDO DELFINO SCRIMAGLIA BORN APRIL 24 1912 HOLBORN LONDON. MOTHERS NAME LOUISA SCRIMAGLIA,FATHERS NAME DELFINO SCRIMAGLIA.

It might be on www.familysearch.org, but that site doesn't have a lot for 20th century. You would need to check the parish records which are probably at the London Metropolitan Archives. If its an Italian surname, its possible he was baptised in a Catholic church and the baptism register would still be with the diocese. nell

Well i would try looking at the local churches nearest the address on the birth certs. If they were Catholic churches you will probably have to contact the church direct as Catholic Churches arent that keen to pass on details outside the church

There is the St.Peters Italian Church in Clerkenwell Road nr Hatton Garden. I know that at one time it had a large Italian following, as nearby was known as Italians Hill. I remember before the war they held a religious procession every year about June and after there would be ahuge party in the neighbouring streets. My family always went and we had a great time, especially enjoyed he italian icecream I believe they called it okey pokey. I believe the Church is still open. Does anyone know if the procession is still held, we last attended about 1964.

Church is still there, I went passed it on my way to Holborn Library last year and there was a wedding party having photos taken outside. nell

The church is still there Stardust and they still have the procession! :)
