Hi there - I've got used to this. We take communications and easy travel for granted now so we tend to know where and who everyone is in our immediate and extended families. You don't have to go back very far for there to be a haziness of information though because people lost touch if they moved away from an area. My dad keeps talking about 'one of the Smiths' and 'there was an aunt Aggie somewhere' and then has the cheek to ask me if I've got any further with the research! Still, we wouldn't want them any other way! Good luck to all.

How do you know she isn't a match if you don't have her birth cert? Have you found her on a census? If she was a schoolteacher, there may be mentions of her in the school records which might be in the county records office. Of course, its also possible that she wasn't a relative, but a family friend. nell

sorry had to go to mothers day service.. .i know she would have been born in the staffordshire moorlands, probably norton around the 1890-1910 period, was never married and was a school teacher,...any ideas on where to look.

Any clues from the photographs about when she would have been born - even a decade would help. Remember Kitty is often an abbreviation of Katherine/Kathryn/Catherine. She may be a relation by marriage and not a blood relative. nell
