Hi, Can anyone tell me how i could find the maiden name of my grandfathers mother. His name is Joseph Thomas, his father was Arthur Charles Thomas and he married a woman called Esther. Esther was born in 1884 but that is all i know. Any help would be appreciated. Mand |

Maiden name would be on Joseph Thomas' birth cert or Arthur Thomas' marriage cert. Where were these people born? |

Mand there is a Joseph Thomas whose birth was registered in Liverpool in the september quarter 1921 mothers maiden name Clarke ref no:8b-61. Was your grandfather the eldest child? Georgina. |

Joe had 8 brothers and sisters: Irene was the oldest Then Ted Margaret Arthur Ethel Frank William Joseph and then Norman. I dont know when they were all born though. |

The marriage that Louise found sounds quite promising then. I looked on Family Relatives and there were 2 Thomas children listed with a mothers maiden name Anders. Ethel E December 1912 Prescott 8b 1485 and Frank 1916 Prescott 8b 1306. Of course the fully transcribed section only goes up to 1920, so your Grandad would just miss it. Chrissie |

And there's a Joseph in Oct-Dec 1922 Prescot 8b 1345. Maiden name Anders. Seems like a good bet to me:)) |
