I have checked and the programmes i have running in the background are Avgcc Avgemc Zlclient Dragdiag Gcasserv Drst Teatimer Adobe Reader Spe I dont know what Teatimer is , do I need all these on start up except for Adobe thanks so much

hi yes I thought someone would think that was funny , I might just take you up on that and have an early night a Hot chocolate and Biscuits yum .I have googled it now and it seems it is part of Spybot so dont suppose I would want to delete that from start up would I ??? night night

Teatimer works much the same as the average Anti-Virus resident in that it monitors the processes called/initiated. If a process tries to initiate and is found in the SSD definitions, it is terminated and an alert pops up to give you choices. Just as with all malware protection, this function is also subject to false positives (incorrect detections). But that is why you are given choices. You can allow the process to load or you can deny it. Although it should be noted that the process is terminated...we don't really want to load malware...do we? Paul

Paul you are a darling thanks so much for telling me whats what , so I dont need to delete any of those then, so that does not explain my slow PC and low virtual memory so I think I will buy some more, thanks very much for taking the time to explain to a Techno phobiac
