I find it hard to read all those capitals and no paragraphs. Your great x 3 grandfather Samuel Flemington Richards, bachelor, married Isabella Caroline Blackwell, spinster, at St Pancras church in 1853. The birth cert of their first child, Samuel Flemington Richards, born 1856 has father's name as above, and mother's name as Isabella Caroline Curtis formerly Snell. You have looked for marriages for Isabella Caroline Snell and found her married to William John Blackwell in 1848 in Notting Hill. You checked on the census and she is IC Snell born Starcross, Devon.

I think you need to find out what happened to Mr Blackwell. Did he die? Or was he still alive, and Isabella pretended not to be married on her marriage cert? Or did the vicar assume she was a spinster and she didn't bother to correct him? nell
