Could someone tell me please, if a widow remarried would she use her maiden name or her previous married name on the new marriage certificate. Thank you for any help. Kind regards, Linda.

In days gone by I would say she would ALWAYS use her former married name. Probably the same for today too....... Maybe the only exceptions to this would be if she had fallen out with the first husband before his death or they had separated intending to divorce, or similar......... Merry

Hi Merry, Thank you for the information, her husband died in 1899 and they had 11 children. So I don't think falling out was an opption by then. Kind regards, Linda.
