My Great Grandparents were married in Belfast in 1870. I don't have the exact date. Would it be worth me trying to apply for a marriage certificate with the little bit of info I have?? I have their names and year of birth but not place of birth. Greatgrandmother had unusual christian name of Douglas. Do you think that may help? Be gratefull for any advice. Thankyou Christine x

What have you got to lose by applying? Records are with the Registrar General at Joyce House, 8-11 Lombard Street, Dublin 2, + 353 1635 40000, www.groireland.ie. nell

Thankyou Nell I think I will give it a go. With G.Grandmother having such an unusual name I may stand a better chance. Thankyou again Christine x

try the ancestryireland site, its got BMD from County Antrim, Down and Belfast for the time you want, its NOT complete but if you do find both the names you want its £6 to download 5 fully transcribed certificates for a given name (marriage or birth) instead of £11 each from GRONI. Teresa
